Re: Mains hum on FM Tx with radio in the charger
The TP5100 charger drop-in also is said to improve the RFI on the charger, although it's still pretty significant. Weaker repeaters on one HT disappear as soon as I drop the GD77 or MD380 into the charger, so for me it's not so much "through" the charger as RFI from the charger. I believe the origin...

Re: Fully charged battery shows 94%
I'm using a TP5100 module in my GD77 base with a 12V input from my radiio PSU to charge my GD77 (and MD380), and it charges about twice as fast, less heat, and less RFI. I've also noticed my radio is almost always at 94%, maybe for giggles I'll try my other base which I did not modify and see what i...

Re: sort of a bug -ish
I just click the button over to on, then turn it up after a second, personally. You can always also set the power on sound in the CPS to 0,0 and it will have none. Not sure about the battery bit, I thought the settings persisted in the codeplug, not just in 'ram', so swapping the battery would not m...

Re: Tier2 vs Tier1 firmware
Don't get me wrong, duplex hotspot is better then simplex, IMO. I had two simplex ones. Bought one duplex, sold one simplex. Buying another duplex, will sell second simplex. GD-77 will be the only simplex hotspot I will have. But I have MD-390 too, so what ever I choose to set on duplex hotspot, I ...

Re: Tier2 vs Tier1 firmware
No, no... No problems in that configuration. If you setup Chinese duplex hotspot for use with MD-380, then it won't work with GD-77, and vice versa. And BTW, MD-390 will work either way. Well now I'm more confused; I use my MD380 and my GD77 on the same Pi-Star mmdvm hotspot every day. But it's not...

Re: Experimental changes to code optimisation
I would not like to spoil this topic with my personnal issue unrelated with this topic... But to make short I have 3 GD77 (one stayed with the official firmware), 4 hotspots with Pistar and everything is adjusted as best as possible. BER is stable around 0,2% no matter which combination TX/hotspot ...

Re: Tier2 vs Tier1 firmware
Is he using repeater, or hotspot? If hotspot, what are MMDVM settings? If hotspot is set for use with MD-380, then GD-77 will work poorly on it, as you know (and me too, cause I have both). BTW, MD-390 doesn't have problems with duplex hotspot (I have that one too), just FYI. I haven't used it much...

Re: Experimental changes to code optimisation
The only problem I have for a long time is this sort of desync/dropout/bug that I have when receiving DMR. It is pretty rare with one GD77 but relatively frequent with the second one (it is the same with calibration ON or OFF). Also when scanning, if the scanner stops on a DMR RX, most of time ther...

Re: Experimental changes to code optimisation
Listening on a net right now with my MD380 running MD380Tools and this build on my GD77, everything sounds exactly the same between the two radios, even the delay. Does this build have the 1 frame delay in it, if so, it's even more subtle than I expected, or maybe the MD380 already has such a delay ...

Re: Accept Cookie Policy not showing on some systems
I got stuck one day and couldn't do anything, could not login, etc, due to not accepting cookie.. realized I wasn't on https again. This really shouldn't be a blocker, most site it is not. But this might be something in phpbb that can't be changed and I suspect it's Chrome itself that's not saving/r...
