[Resolved] OpenGD77 HS Disappears from PiStar Radio Info

Post by kd2lh » Thu Jan 09, 2020 1:36 pm

I'm running PiStar V4.1.0 rc7 with all fixes.

In testing the latest debug firmware for OpenGD77 I have noticed that the PiStar dashboard (Admin and non-Admin) has stopped reporting OpenGD77 in the "Radio Info" block "Firmware" item. Just "Trx" Tx" and "Rx" lines show up.

Is this something we've changed at this end? It has worked in the past.

I'll be loading today's new firmware shortly and double check it.

Yes, I changed the ID. Here is a patch for the dashboard (it's already part of my Pi-Star forks). If you want to submit it to the Pi-Star dev.

Cheers.

Daniel, I don't have an account active on Git for them, but will post to their forum as a change request.

Okay. I can try to raise a PR to Pi-Star Dashboard, but my master is way beyond than the official one...

Cheers.

If you create a PR, Andy normally processes it very quickly. Thats how I originally got the OpenGD77 DMR Hotspot added to the modem list.

BTW.

Daniel. Why did you change the ID. The simple fix for this is just to put 4 spaces before the ID.

I think as a temporary measure, the version string needs to contain the version in both the old and new locations

#define HOTSPOT_VERSION_STRING "OpenGD77 Hotspot v0.0.74 v0.0.74"

I will merge Daniels latest change with BlueDV fixes and also then make this change and post a new version

Should I withdraw the requests over at the PiStar forum (are we going to resolve this within the firmware itself)?

Yes.
Can you remove it.
Daniel or I can create a PR when the format of the description string has been clarified
