New CPS 2023 08 18

Post by VK3KYY » Fri Aug 18, 2023 6:20 am

A new CPS is now available with improvements in APRS and Satellite data
On the OpenGD77 screen there is also a new button to clear voice prompts in the radio

See

downloads/CPS/Latest/OpenGD77CPSInstall ... .18.01.exe

Important

This version changes the Satellite data sent to and stored in the radio and is only compatible with the latest version of firmware for all radios.
It also changes the APRS data handling

So you need to update your radio firmware before updating to this version of CPS

Thanks to Daniel F1RMB for his work on this version

So you need to update your radio firmware before updating to this version of CPS
Just to be extra sure and careful I should update to the latest firmware on the radio(s) using the CPS I already have and pre-dates this new CPS.

Once I have updated the radio(s) firmware only then should I use this new CPS as this CPS is for the new firmware.

Thank you and team for the work and efforts.

Hi,

It's still better to install the lastest CPS first.

Cheers.

Hi,

thank you for the explanation. I have installed the latest firmware (FW_RT3S_20230818) on my RT3S and the latest CPS (R2023.08.18.01). Now DTMF works fine as explained. I have added an APRS entry (with your default values) and linked this to an additional FM channel (144.800). If I press the PTT and shortly the SK1 key together there are no APRS data comming out. With the old firmware and the CPS R2023.08.10.01 that worked fine. My mistake?

You have a location defined?
I tested on one of my RT3S and there it didn't worked with APRS until I had defined a location.

Did you enter your callsign into the codeplug?

Also, did you operate the tx correctly, Hold PTT then short press and release of SK1

Can you share your codeplug (just to double check) ?

Hi,

that is my APRS entry. As you can see, the Callsign is available in the codeplug. DMR works without Problems.
And the other photo shows my channel entry. As mentioned, it worked fine with the CPS and the firmware before.

Thank you and 73´s
