Hi I just listed mine on EBay,

John (W1COD)
Thank you for letting me know. However, my budget is set around $60-$70. I can meet you in West Hartford if you can meet my budget. If not, I understand, and thank you again for letting me know.

How much would you charge me to install the chip on mine? You already have the chip?

I’m not a professional electronics repair person. It just a hobby, I can play with my stuff because I know I won’t sue myself if I messed it up. I’m not comfortable opening up others radios, lots of things can go wrong.

My advice is talk to a telephone repair shop and ask them if they can do it. The chip is very cheap on Amazon.com.

Shout out to Charlie, KA1CM!!

I purchased W1COD's RD-5R on eBay and had it shipped to Charlie for him to update the RAM chip from 1MB to a whopping 16MB, which allows for a full worldwide download of RadioID's to the previously hobbled RD-5R (Radioddity did not want to canabalize sales of their then premiere low-end DMR HT, the GD-77, which had enough RAM for a full download).

He extended his courtesies even more when I swapped him my extra RD-5R in exchange for his RAM upgrades on both my newly acquired RD-5R and my previous AliExpress acquired DM-5R and he threw in a full programmed pi-star HotSpot for me, too!

Next stop: I will be programming my codeplug for my newly acquired Radioddity DB25-D to include Hotspot capability for my round trip drive up to Montana this July in my Chevy Bolt EV, which includes On Star WiFi capability.

Thank you, Charlie!!!
