Re: 10W UV380/UV390 PLUS VERSIONS NOT CURRENTLY SUPPORTED
Don’t forget it does not transmit at all on analog.
Also remember no backlight on power on until PTT is pushed.

Re: 10W UV380/UV390 PLUS VERSIONS NOT CURRENTLY SUPPORTED
I have 390 Plus that don't work with OpenGD77. When I switch it on, I hear CT morse code and analog open squelch sound. Station have no reaction on any button, including PTT. SK2+Power on don't help. Screen is black.
Re: 10W UV380/UV390 PLUS VERSIONS NOT CURRENTLY SUPPORTED
If you set the radio to DMR, does it work ?
KQ4MDM says his radio works OK in DMR but not FM including screen not displaying.
FYI. Screen not displaying is a problem with screen backlight control, because with colour LCD screens if there is no backlight its impossible to see the contents of the LCD display.

In FM mode I can receive, but transmitting is poor, in channel settings power is N/A and not adjustable.
Re: 10W UV380/UV390 PLUS VERSIONS NOT CURRENTLY SUPPORTED
I have an MD-UV-390 10 W which I bought around one month ago. It is the version for which the Aliexpress advertisement says that the original firmware has AES256 encryption.
It works perfectly well with OpenGD77. The last version I have installed is the version from 31th December. DMR works RX+TX, FM TX+RX works. No anomalies with the user interface. The max power is 5 watts, though, with OpenGD77 and unfortunately I had not measured whether it had 10 watts with the original firmware.
everything is exactly as with my other older MD-UV-380.
Best regards

Did you test the radio with the official firmware to confirm that it will produce 10W?DL1DBY wrote: ↑Mon Jan 15, 2024 8:40 amI have an MD-UV-390 10 W which I bought around one month ago. It is the version for which the Aliexpress advertisement says that the original firmware has AES256 encryption.

Also. Select the -W+ power level, to enable maximum PA drive and then check the output power

And I would like to have the secure register of this one too, as it's working.
Cheers.

Re: 10W UV380/UV390 PLUS VERSIONS NOT CURRENTLY SUPPORTED
Salut Daniel,
here is the link to the registers files (original one when I installed OpenGD77 and current one):
https://disk.yandex.com/d/YVdM3s3fLSWoAg
In this directory I have also put a photograph of the label of the radio unter the battery.
Unfortunately, I have not checked output power before I installed OpenGD77.
I have redone the power output calibration on 145.500 for "4W" and I increased "adjust" from 144 (=4 watts) to the maximum value of 255. I measured 9.4 watts. So it seems to be the 10 watts version.
