Salut Daniel,

here is the link to the registers files (original one when I installed OpenGD77 and current one):

https://disk.yandex.com/d/YVdM3s3fLSWoAg

In this directory I have also put a photograph of the label of the radio unter the battery.

Unfortunately, I have not checked output power before I installed OpenGD77.

I have redone the power output calibration on 145.500 for "4W" and I increased "adjust" from 144 (=4 watts) to the maximum value of 255. I measured 9.4 watts. So it seems to be the 10 watts version.

Thanks for the files.

Cheers.

OK.

So this means that they must somehow be storing the 10W calibration value somewhere, or pehaps just setting the PA to maximum when you select 10W

You do not need to use the calibration to get 10W

Just select the special -W+ power setting

Select 5W, then press and hold the button to button to increase power and you will see the value of -W+
This is actually the User Defined power level, and you can set this level in the Radio Options. Note the resolution of this value is more accurate and the max value is 4100 not 255
Please read the User Guide.

No rush at all. But just inquiring if there is any hope for this in the future? I am liking this radio for dmr. Would love to see it work for analog too.

It's unlikely that we can resolve this problem unless we buy 2 or 3 of these radios ourselves and my budget for new radios is currently $0

I'm currently working on a radio I bought over a year ago, and have partially damaged it while trying to understand how it works internally.
i.e the trackball menu control system no longer works.

You may like to see what I have to do to radios in order to get the firmware onto them

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-AY2iX2qmE

Which basically involves taking them apart and soldering wires inside, which sometimes results in damaging the radio by accident.

Hence why I normally have to buy at least 2 of each radio I work on.

Currently have 7 GD-77 radios, but not all of them still work. I have 3 MD-9600 and for a while only 2 of them were working, but I managed to finally get the third going again after a lot of work.

So unless someone is willing to take their radio apart and analyse the control signals in this radio and how it differs from the other radios, I think its unlikely that we will be able to support it.

Unfortauntely the manufacturers are not interested in supplying us with free radios.
Radioddity did send me 2 GD-77 radios, without batteries etc which were customer returns, but thats all I've ever received.

And even if they did send us free radios, the problem is that it takes hundreds of hours of work to get the firmware working on a new radio, and we don't get paid for this, and none of us now has that much free time.

Understood. Thanks for all you have done for it to work as much as it is. But two way radios has stopped responding to my emails. So I guess I live with what I have for now. Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Would it help to have the firmware for the new one? They supposedly just sent it to me.

I posted on their forum about being unhappy and they suddenly contacted me.

Well they had me send another picture of the back of the radio. They said that since my radio does not have gps that the firmware they sent is not the right one.

Did you get it from buytwowayradios.com ? I thought their listing has always mentioned GPS - I was unaware a Plus, Non-GPS model existed.

The one I saw from buytwowayradios.com when you remove the battery it says GPS on a sticker at the bottom of the battery compartment by the locking mechanism for the battery,

Yes buytwoway

Interesting that they don't even know what the specifications are of the radios they are selling. Website said 5W at the time you bought yours but says 10W inside the battery compartment.

The one I saw from buytwowayradio, had a large "GPS" written to the right of the yellow caution triangle on that bottom sticker. Weird.
