Need help with 1701 new install

OS is Windows 11 pro.
Baofeng's software sees my radio and I can download and (I assume) write to it.

Open GD77 cant see it. It wants em to select the com port but there is only 2 bluetooth coms from my Mobo and nothing else to select?

I installed the drivers from Open GD but it didnt seem to do anything. It certainly didnt confirm any drivers were installed. It just flashed up and shutdown to desktop. So I installed using right click on the definition. Still no joy. The STM in DFU mode (Microsoft) appears in the USB controllers section of Dev manager.

What have I done wrong?

The 1701 isn't seen as a "Com port" with the original fw. - Just as a DFU unit.

Once the OpenGD77 fw is loaded, the 1701 will be seen as a "Com port" in normal mode.

You would want this DFU Driver ...
