according to gp-02 datasheet you need connect io8 pin to ground to switch module to gps+glonass mode .

Code: Select all

 IO8
General-purpose GPIO, the default is the mode
configuration. When high level or floating, it is
BDS+GPS; when low level, it is GPS+GLONASS.

OK.

This must already be enabled in the GP-02 module I tested

I also have some individial GP-02 devices, so they probably didn't receive Beidou when I was testing, because I did not connect IO8 to GND

OK. I did not know this.

I do not have a speaker mic that is compatible with my MD-2017, but I have ordered an adaptor from AliExpress https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005005673577923.html

As soon as the adaptor arrives, I will attempt to investigate this problem

Ok Roger, the mic input and PTT works well, but the sound are only in the speaker of the ht, the external connection don't work.

I tested my 2 mics with another compatible hardware and works ok. so.. i don't know if the problem is the ht or the firmware don't out to this connector.

Another test is return to stock firmware, test and go again to OpenGD77....

Yes. Please test with the stock firmware to see if the speaker in the mic works OK.

Looking in the pin list, there is an unknown input signal on PC3. So if the speaker does work when using the official firmware, then possibly pin PC3 is a sense input that needs to be used to change some other audio configuation in the radio.

However, the only 2 signals I know about the speaker are

SPK_MUTE PB8 Speaker mute
AUDIO_AMP_EN PB9 Audio amplifier power enable

And there are no other unused CPU/MCU pins which could control an audio path to the speaker mic

PS. You probably know but, but for the stock CPS, you need to change in setting.ini file

password=0

to

password=password

Otherwise it will not let you reload the stock codeplug into the radio or will ask for a password

Hi all,

Installed on my MD2017 unit...

Looks to work.

The only "issue" I saw is:

Channels details got distorted and now they show weird characters... See image:

I think a clean and new codeplug will avoid those "mistakes"

Yes, the config flash still contain data from stock config.
Normally you do a flash and register backup here which can help restore the radio.

The data in the flash will then be corrected when you load an OpenGD77 config.

Did you look load an OpenGD77 codeplug?

In the text instructions and in the video I say you must load and OpenGD77 codeplug
