Can't download firmware to a TYT MD-UV390 GPS

I am trying to load firmware to a TYT MD-UV390. I verify the file MD9600-REC(2571V5)-D26.45.bin" and when I try to download The green progress bar starts to move and then I get an error message "Official Donor Firmware Is Not Correct". WTH?? I have retried it at least three (3) times. Anybody have a clue what I am doing wrong? (I am using OPENGD77 CPS, Checked DFU mode with Device Manager etc.)

Also while I have your attention, is it because I have the GPS option? Should I be trying to download the GPS bin file? I figured that I would try the plain vanilla install first time around.

You can download my copy of the donor file from https://www.sa0bux.se/Ham/opengd77/ and do a "FC /B" in a cmd window to do a binary comparison.

It's only the DMR codec that is extracted from the from the donor file so it's irrelevant if the radio has GPS or not.

What opengd77 version and cps version do you use?

I can see you have the cps and the donor file. What is your firmware file version?
Is your 390 5 watts version or 10w version?

Have never heard about this error code so we have get some support from the OpenGD77 CPS team.

Check that you are using a MD-UV380 (OpenMDUV380.zip) firmware file from
downloads/MDUV380_DM1701/Firmware/Latest

I have a 5Watt unit that I purchased April 13, 2022.

I will check out the other file but remember I tried the one from your "cache". Don't worry I'll try it because nothing that I have tried has worked yet!

Wahooo! That file was it! That zip file was loaded without a problem. The only thing I noticed was "garbage in the TG files. Perhaps I just need to start a new blank Code Plug?

Anyway, I was able to load that file. Now on to the next Problem(s) LOL

Yes, a radio that is installed with OpenGD77 for the first time still have memory structure from the stock firmware.
It's recommended to do a "Backup Flash" with the OpenGD77 Support application under Extras as it's useful if you want to restore to stock firmware.

When you later load an OpenGD77 code plug is memory restructured and cleared from "garbage".

Thank you. I have it up and running. I can get to the repeaters and I love the functionality of the GD77 software. A lot more intuitive.

This looks like a lot of fun. Now if I can only make a sat comm contact LOL
