Hi TP5100 people, great info here. I’m wondering is there a way to modify the fully charged voltage cutoff? Let say, If I want it to stop charging at 8.0Volt.

I don't think so. The charging voltage is defined internally in the chip.

Hi TP 5100 people, Dumb question.
What will happen if I set TP 5100 to 1A charging current, but the power supply to the cradle can only provide 0.5A?
Will the module kill the power supply? OR it will charge at 0.5A?
We are talking about the constant current phase of the charge while the battery is below 80%, of course.

It will be charged with 500mA and the cut will be voltage

I have mod my RD-5R charger and set the charging current to 1 A (RTS = 0.1 Ohm). Trying with the original power supply (10V 0.5A) the battery was being charged at 0.6A. When switched to a 12V 3A power supply, the battery was being charged at 1 A. I then switched back to original power supply and completed the charge on the test battery. Everything was well, the power supply is in the normal temp.
In conclusion, If the selected charging current is more than the power supply can provide, the module will charge at maximum current it can, nothing damage.
With 12V 3A power supply With original power supply (10V 0.5A) I have also brought RED/BLUE common Anode LED for this project from Amazon. It's come in a pack of 200 LEDs, so If anyone in the US would like to have some, I will mail 10 of them to you for $1. Thank you everyone in this thread. Great information, fun project.
