Problems with the contact list

Post by dj5bm » Sun Jan 12, 2025 9:50 pm

I have a problem importing the contact list. I load the contacts into the MD2017 device using the 262. They are displayed when I download them. Unfortunately, they are not visible in the CPS afterwards. The call signs are displayed in the MD2017, but without the first name or last name or city. What am I doing wrong? Does anyone have a solution for this? Or the same problem?

DMR ID database is separate from Digital Contacts

This is the same on all most DMR Radios, not just OpenGD77

DMR ID database is only to show the callsign and name etc of the station being received (Rx)

Digital Contacts are used for Tx e.g. TG and Private Calls.

Change 16 characters to 50. And make sure to set menu -> options -> display options-> contact -> 2 line

Hope this helps,
Charlie,

Hello Charlie,
No, I've tried that too, it doesn't work either. Only the call sign is displayed. And why are there no entries in the CPS? I've tried everything possible, it just doesn't work. :(

Thanks for your answer, I have a lot of DMR transceivers in use and they are all displayed in the CPS in the ID list, which is also useful for editing a contact manually. Why doesn't that work in the Opengd77 CPS for the MD2017? Unfortunately, only the call sign is displayed in the transceiver, even with the setting 2 lines and 50??

It does display the full contact if the DMR ID database is successfuly loaded. Also, the lookup order matters (see https://github.com/LibreDMR/OpenGD77_Us ... e.md#order).

The codeplug itself supports only 1024 contact, with a 16 characters limit, that's why the DMR ID database is located elsewhere in the device flash memory, and not available in the CPS.

Have you changed any display colors? Make sure the colors of the information and the background are not the same.

Thank you very much for the answers and the help. It worked. It only worked after I created a zone manually with a few entries. Why it worked after that is a mystery to me. But the main thing is that it works now.
