Same here. The only reason I would revert, would just be to test something in the official firmware. I'm never going to use it for normal operation

You're on the wrong forum.
Here you can only find manufacturers' firmwares for transceivers supported by OpenGD77 (and there are exceptions).

I found the latest firmware for DM-1701. The maintainer claims it to be v2.06. I could not verify this information.

I'm looking to update my 1701 to openGD77 but would like to have a working original firmware to revert back to.

the firmware in Github is ok, I've used it few days ago without issues to revert a DM-1701 to original firmware in order to check the original calibration values and to align the radio using a SDR, and then returned back to OpenGD77 without issues.

I think the only thing I can note is that I believe the radio CP version as delivered was 1.06, and after using this firmware it was 1.05, but don't know if that's accurate or if it matters. At least in my case the radio seems to work fine.

But then I re-flahsed it with openGD77, so now I have a new toy to play with.
