I had a similar issue with loading the code plug on a V5 TYT MD-9600. The cause was a com port conflict with an Eltima virtual com port. I changed the OpenGD77 port to an unused one and it started working.

I think I have had enough of going in circles with trying to figure out why my RT3S (with the latest OpenDG77 CP) running, it keeps asking me for a comm port. Can't read the radio period.
Below is my radio info
The GD CP info
Now, tell me what is the (blank) and I doing wrong??? Oh also, seeing I DO NOT have a windows 10 computer, I have Windows 11 Pro one. and everything else works fine, Here is a question, Do I need any other drivers to show a comm port? Also I can read fine with the RT3S software, as well as write to it. it is just this blasted GD CPS that is the problem.
Any Solutions would be appreciated.

Have you installed OpenGD77 on the radio?
You won't get a Com port if you still have the official firmware in the radio
Firmware loading does not use the com port.

OpenGD77 CPS ONLY works with radios that have OpenGD77 installed already except that you can access the radio to write the OpenGD77 firmware
to it, that part is done via the DFU driver.
