hey everyone. Im new to all this but I was able to get opengd77 installed onto a gd77 and a gd77s. i wanted to use the gd77s as the hotspot. Its working but its proving a little challenging. Couple of things I can figure out without a screen. Im using Blue DV on windows also.
I never figured out how to put the gd77s into hotspot mode, so i just put a hotspot zone, and hotspot channel into the code plug and it seems to be working (sort of)
1st, It seems like the usb connection is maybe flakey or something. BlueDV drops the connection when I TX often. I key up and the color on bluedv doesn't change, but the gd77s turns led green. flipping serial on and off makes tx works again, but then I lose RX.
2nd, when im RXing from a talk group, I see bluedv activate but nothing comes out of the radio (no red light) then, after a bit, eventually there is a substantially long break in the transmissions from a net, and all of a sudden it starts to work and I can hear on my gd77. I have no idea why this pause seems to make it work.
Also, I cant figure out how to reduce the power and its getting quite warm.
any help would be very much appreciated.
