Microphone numbers failure
Microphone numbers failure
Hello good evening, I have a question: when I manually enter the TG with the bracket key, when I press the number 1,4,7, the display shows 2,5,8. Can you put a key to lower those numbers? THANK YOU
Re: Microphone numbers failure
Sorry, but that's not clear.
To enter a TG/PC/etc, you need to press the hash (#) key.
Also, you're already able to change the entered numbers using the Up and Down keys (front panel and mic), before pressing the Green one.

Re: Microphone numbers failure
If you are saying the numbers you press in the microphone are not correct then that is normally an indication of a microphone fault. Try cleaning and reseating the connecting cable. The microphone buttons are sent as varying voltages to the main unit. Any poor connection can cause this voltage to be incorrect.

Re: Microphone numbers failure
Thank you very much for answering me both, I already solved it with the transmitter keys since the microphone keys fail, I just want to encourage you to continue updating open GD and thank you for the great work you do. 73 greetings
Re: Microphone numbers failure
i second this, it's a known issue with the 9600 radios, especially in a vehicle parked outdoors due to humid air etc. it will happen sooner or later! Also may cause audio problems while transmitting.G4EML wrote: ↑Wed Feb 26, 2025 10:59 amIf you are saying the numbers you press in the microphone are not correct then that is normally an indication of a microphone fault. Re: Microphone numbers failure
I've just had exactly this happen with my radio, weirdly enough only on frequency input - TG input works fine.
Off to pull the radio out of the car and clean the contacts up
**Edit: ended up cutting the connector off at the mic pcb and soldering the wires direct

Re: Microphone numbers failure

ej:
Good morning, the problem is more common than you might think and is caused by the poor quality of the microphone cable connector plug and the manufacturer's lack of care in performing a quality inspection to verify whether the slot where the plug is supposed to fit is in good condition to receive it. Personally, I solved it by supplementing one side of the plug with a thin sheet of plastic, and it stayed securely in place. I hope this comment helps a colleague. I apologize for writing in Spanish; it's the only language I speak.
