Baofeng DM-32 GPS APRS AES256

Post by yt1rxa » Fri May 23, 2025 11:35 pm

The new Baofeng DM-32 GPS APRS AES256 radio has appeared, which in the first tests and in operation proved to be quite good. In connection with this, I ask whether anyone has already tested it and whether there is a possibility of installing OpenGD firmware in the radio! The factory has made an effort to make a quality RX/TX digital radio.
Is there a chance to check whether there is a possibility of installing OpenGD?

No.

1. Chipset unknown
2. Firmware encrypion unkown
3. Firmware loading protocol unkown

Come back when you know the chipset is the same as the supported radios and know how to encrypt and upload the firmware

Ok, I'll try to find out the important information.
For now, the only thing I know is that the radio is not UDMA, but uses the CH340 chip for the interface in communication with the PC during programming.

I found a new firmware offered on the factory website that could serve as a starting point for upgrading this device.
I repeat that the radio with the factory firmware proved to be actually better than some brands such as the DMR EnyTone radio station.
In my deep conviction, it lacks the DMR directory that is inserted directly from the RadioID website and the Tokenalias function . . .

I also forgot to share the link for the factory radio programming program which includes the flashing section:
