Hello everyone

I'm thinking of a way of making a custom USB-C chargeable battery for my Baofeng DM1701.

I have a clear idea of which components I'm going to integrate when it comes to feeding the radio 7.4V of Li-Ion power, but there is this third pad, in the middle of the + and - pads, which I don't know what it does. The radio does nothing out of the ordinary if you tape it out with electrical tape. Is it just disconnected?

Has anyone opened a DM1701 battery besides this guy https://www.reddit.com/r/Baofeng/commen ... all_built/ ? He did not give details on what he found inside.

I see... Seems to be the same guy
It doesn't see it explicitly, but he really mentions just two cables soldered to the flat side of the battery.
