Problem with RETEVIS RT3s and HotSpot

Post by ea2faw » Mon Jun 16, 2025 10:54 am

Hello everyone, and thank you very much for joining the forum.

I'm sharing my problem to see if anyone else has had a similar experience.

I have a hotspot that I can access from any of my digital devices (TYT9600 and 878 UV2+) without any problems.

I just purchased a Retevis RT3s and installed opengd77, but I can't seem to "open" the hotspot when I press the PTT button on my new walkie-talkie. I've tried everything, including inserting the TYT9600's cocodeplug, since it works on this device, but I can't open the HS. I've also tried correcting the hotspot frequency, but to no avail. It doesn't receive anything, and as soon as I move it from its current location, the "Time Out" message starts appearing on the Retevis screen, so I assume there's no need to move it. I'm starting to think the modem is broken, but... Has anyone else had something similar happen to them...?

Thank you all so much!!

carrier frequency deviation problem. you can try to calibrate your RT3S.

I have had the same problem with my RD-5R. This is a common problem when trying to use multiple radio with one hotspot, especially a duplex hotspot.

The calibration worked. I can finally use the RT3 via the hotspot. Thank you so much for your patience and knowledge, KA1CM.
