OpenGD77 DM-1701 won't load different codeplug
Re: OpenGD77 DM-1701 won't load different codeplug
OpenGD77 codeplug files are usable on every OpenGD77 featured devices.
Re: OpenGD77 DM-1701 won't load different codeplug
Then I can’t figure out why my DM-1701 does not accept a new code plug, even as the software and screen says that it is.
Re: OpenGD77 DM-1701 won't load different codeplug
Yes, I wrote my RD-5R code plug using the OpenGD77 CPS software.
Re: OpenGD77 DM-1701 won't load different codeplug
Another member of this forum sent me some of his code plugs for this radio and the OpenGD77 software and DM-1701 screen appears to be showing them loading into the radio fine, but on reset (and even power off and on) my original codeplug is still in memory contents.
Looks like I won't be able to get the generic PAPA OpenGD77 codeplug into this radio in time for tomorrow's PAPA Picnic and raffle...
Hopefully someone will come up with a solution and I can donate it to the club another time!

Re: OpenGD77 DM-1701 won't load different codeplug
SUCCESS!
So, it seems that when I flashed my DM-1701 for OpenGD77, I could not get the flash software to work in Windows 11.
Rather than debug the problem, I just went to Windows 10 (I am exclusively Mac, but I use Parallels to run Windows 11, 10 and even XP for my wireless radio CPS programming that are not covered by CHIRP)! And it worked perfectly.
But I forgot this history and all of my failed programming attempts to change the Codeplug were in Windows 11.
Then I received a reply to one of my Reddit /DMR posts about flashing the DM-1701 for OpenGD77 and the reply reminded me that I had used Windows 10.
So I just went to my OpenGD77 CPS programming software in Windows 10 and the PAPA System codeplug installed perfectly and works like a charm.
Thank you to ALL who chimed in on this problem.
