Re: OpenGD - ignore CRC in RAS frames (DMR)

If I understand it correctly, RAS is an access whitelist system that MotoTRBO uses, it allows the repeater to lock it to the radios (so it has to be MotoTRBO radios as they are the only one w/ this feature) that has a "key" to access the repeater. So it is a form of access control, not unlike your k...

Re: TX on FRS frequencies?

OT: It is not just the power level that FRS equipment is regulated with. It has to do with other specifications that it must meet to be qualified. And it is not just because of a non factory firmware being modified into it either, only because the GD-77S has never been approved for FRS use. Granted,...

Re: OpenGD77 CPS has been updated to fix the RD-5R loader bug

Thanks!!

Unrelated: my Chrome browser gave me a warning against the .exe file as "it is not commonly downloaded", w/ a red triangle warning sign. LOL.

Re: Ailunce HD1

Very interesting indeed. I don't know many who own the Ailunce, and also they seem to be a "one hit wonder", unlike other brands. So it's quite curious about this model. I guess Retevis wants to experiment with a premium brand and see if it can capture the ham radio market. AFIK. Retevis are just r...

Re: Port To CS800D

The GD-77 is a TYT MD-760. Radioddity just paid for additional firmware features to be written. Firmware for virtually all these Chinese radios, (any radios which use the C5000, C6000 or C7000 DMR chip) are all written by the same software developers, who probably worked in house for the company wh...

Re: Ailunce HD1

When talking to the Retevis Official Store on eBay (via a chain of emails), their sales rep claimed that Ailunce is their brand under Retevis and caters wholly to the amateur radio market (while Retevis caters to both commercial and amataur?). But Retevis has sold many products that are found under ...

Re: [Not possible] Port to GD-73

The application manual made me feel excited about this chip, I mean, it's pretty detailed and this time we are doing in a white box, which will probably ease the process. I don't know if the HR-C6000 supports sending/receiving PCM data to/from an analog channel, but HR-C7000 does, and this means we...

Re: AGC control received audio

This is my biggest complaint about the amateur radio DMR world: too many too loud DMR traffic, while a few are too soft. The newer Gen 2 of the Motorola MotoTRBO radios can add a factory add-on for a low price to have Audio Levelling feature. I have done that on mine, while this is a rarely requeste...

Re: Port To CS800D

FYI. I had a look at the Ailuance HD1 firmware update and the firmware file is embedded inside an exe, so its difficult to know whether its in the same format as the GD-77 or not. It probably depends on whether this is really a TYT radio which is rebranded by Ailuance, and they wrote their own firm...
