Re: New Beta version 2023 04 23

Woah, cool stuff! There must indeed have been an issue with ctcss/dcs a while back when I mentioned it, because after flashing this and testing that specifically again with the same RD-5R and USB SDR, I found that it works now! Awesome stuff here... blows that factory firmware trash straight out of ...

Re: ALPHA version - Known problems

I have just re-checked and both CTCSS and DCS are working normally on the MDUV380. What makes you think that there is an issue? Colin G4EML Sorry for the delayed reply. In my fairly limited functionality testing I had trouble with both my SDR and RD-5Rj(plural, and of course all on Open rd-5r FW) w...

Re: ALPHA version - Known problems

Has anyone had issues with the UV380 and CTCSS or DCS filters? There seems to be issues with both TX and RX. Can someone else confirm that its not my attenuator or SDR? Haven't had the time to do more testing yet.

Re: ALPHA version - Known problems

I'm not sure what precisely caused this issue, but I discovered an issue with hanging on 'boot'. I do use the password option as well as a boot image. This seemed to work fine, but shortly after loading a DMR ID database it *seemed* like the boot image was overwritten causing this hang for roughly 3...

Re: FM APRS function

Also interested in this, especially now that I see the MD-UV380 is supported. @VK3KYY Do you happen to own a hackrf(+portapack)? I've been poking around the mayhem firmware and learning a bit about APRS... you're likely (okay definitely) way ahead of me on what it would take to implement on a radio,...

Re: Feature request(s)

No. You can not legally use a radio on 90, 95, and 97 at the same time. And 90 and 95 both very clearly say unmodified devices. There must be some way around that though. I'm thinking something like registering a 'modified device' as a new device (with enough changes to qualify as new) through what...

Re: Feature request(s)

Is there an actual question, you seem to be circling something. Okay, maybe I wasn't clear enough. Essentially I'm asking If an individual can take any given modified transceiver that meets or can be programmed with a channel that meets the requirements for 'license by rule' stuff and get that devi...

Re: Feature request(s)

So... as a newbie I have a question then: If a person can verify that all the requirements laid out here are met for any given transceiver, could they legally use it to transmit? I haven't gotten a chance to fully read and digest every requirement here (part 95 subpart J) , but if all requirements a...

Re: Feature request(s)

MURS requires a certified radio for Part 95, the GD77 is not Part 95. Ahh really? What caused me to look into it a little was a suggestion from a friend's father who is an active ham, so I guess he is wrong. I've got a decent pair of cobra radios with a micro usb charging port for my needs, but he ...

Re: Feature request(s)

Although the radio may be receiving data from DMR repeaters that data it is not easily available to the program. Most DMR functions are carried out internally by the dedicated HRC6000 baseband chip. This is a complex device and there is only very poor documentation available. The chip manufacturers...
