Go to folder options/view/advanced settings, unclick "Hide extensions for known file types" and your Windoze experience will be much more pleasant.

Can't say I've noticed that. I turn the display brightness on my UV390 way down anyhow, 30% for daytime, 10% for the night theme. My Baofeng 1701 is adjusted a little higher, 50/20.

Have never heard a radio amateur here use a roger beep , it's something 27 MHz people use. And OpenGD77 is for amateur radio use. I've heard roger beeps used by licensed amateurs...invariably followed by other amateurs insisting they turn it off!! The beeps are often on by default in cheap Chinese ...
