Re: RT3S-> No sikp function for channel and frequency scan
**** Sorry not reading the manual carefully! **** I think very few of us sit down and read the manual for anything from beginning to end, instead referring to it only when we have a question or some difficulty with a feature. So many radios, especially cheap Chinese products have poorly translated ...

Go to folder options/view/advanced settings, unclick "Hide extensions for known file types" and your Windoze experience will be much more pleasant.

Re: newbie experience
You are correct! I expanded to 40 characters, and it all fit! And, it DID take a while... It takes a good long time on any radio, the database is getting quite large. IMO, OpenGD77 makes downloading the database so easy...its all right there in the CPS, no need to generate and download files from a...

Re: Roger beep function
Have never heard a radio amateur here use a roger beep , it's something 27 MHz people use. And OpenGD77 is for amateur radio use. I've heard roger beeps used by licensed amateurs...invariably followed by other amateurs insisting they turn it off!! The beeps are often on by default in cheap Chinese ...

Re: Baofeng DM-1701 Datenkabel
Baofeng use different USB cables to other radios The USB D+ and D- wires are transposed Learned this the hard way. When I picked up a DM1701, I assumed I could use the same cables that came with my TYT and Anytone radios. Nope...no joy until I got the Baofeng cable (which looks IDENTICAL to the Any...

Re: contacts
I was referring to the database of DMR id's. thanks for the reply. It depends on the number of characters you choose to download. If you choose the minimum of 16 characters, it will hold 937163 DMR ids. If you max it out to 50 characters (as I do) it'll hold just 342864 ids, which of course is far ...

Re: Nothing heard on DMR Heeellllppppp!
I checked some of the larger distributors here: Farnell estimated 2024-03-18 Digikey 2024-02-09 Elfa Distrelec not available (most of the distributors only sell to companies) I ordered four from Mouser in early October 2023 and received them in December. Then I got an "in stock" email from Adafruit...

Re: Nothing heard on DMR Heeellllppppp!
The main problem now is the shortage on Raspberries , most of the pi-stars use a Pi Zero W or Zero 2W and the latter is often on backorder. I'm building an analog FM hotspot for SVXLink for the moment and waiting for the Zero 2 W. FWIW, the shortage seems to be easing. I've been able to obtain five...
