definitively you are using the wrong cable, because DM-1701 uses a direct USB cable and not a cable with USB-TTL chip.

easy to fix, just leave the radio on and connected to the PC and reinstall the OpenGD77 CPS and that will also reinstall the COM port driver and will fix the issue.

I wonder from what year of production are the TYT MD-UV390 Plus models that have the black screen problem with OpenMDUV380_10W_PLUS.zip because I've tested in a model from 2024/07 and it works fine with that firmware.

FYI. If MDC-1200 is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MDC-1200 then it can't legally be added to the non-Chinese versions of OpenGD77 because the protocol has multiple patents attached to it I can see that the last patent is from 1984, so I guess is not a problem for today. the code for MDC-1200 in Git...
