it depends of what kind of USB TTL chip your cable uses.
some older or fake/clone Prolific chips are problematic with modern versions of Windows (unless you use a really old version of the driver)
CH340 is more reliable, FTDI too (except fakes/clones) and Silicon Labs too.

the HD1 v1 models use C6000 chip, while the new 2023 models aka HD1 v2 uses the new C7000 chip and a more recent firmware.
