Due to the policy of not releasing the current source I can't investigate any further.

Re: new dmr mobile radio Retevis RT73

The rt73 opens easily, and closes with many problems. There are 4 nuts hidden under some adhesive labels on the top and bottom, and once you remove them the equipment is in two parts. However, the union cables are very short, which makes it very difficult to connect them again, it takes a lot of pat...

Re: new dmr mobile radio Retevis RT73

Yesterday I received an RT73. It's a well-built, compact radio that seems to work relatively well. I have a uhf DMR repeater about 80km from home that reaches me very marginally. With the GD77 it is impossible to hear it with the base antenna, although if I receive it in very specific places on the ...

Re: Helicopter background TX noise in DMR mode

Hi Roger Surely the pattern will be the same with the internal or external microphone, possibly only vary the intensity of it. This pattern will have to do with the TDMA frame in terms of frequency. So I think if it works for an external mic, where it’s easier for it to appear, it will also work wit...

Re: Helicopter background TX noise in DMR mode

I have an original radioditty microphone, which does this effect. The problem is not with the device and less with the firmware. The problem is the poor quality of the microphone that picks up the TDMA modulated rf, which makes a pulsating effect. If you decrease the power the effect is attenuated. ...

Re: On "Profiteering" and Free Software

This seller reports that he can install the opengd77 firmware for an additional £ 20. https://www.ebay.es/itm/BaoFeng-DM-1801-Walkie-Talkie-VHF-UHF-Dual-Band-DMR-Two-Way-Radio-Transceiver-UK/203158745180 or only 10... https://www.ebay.es/itm/Radioddity-GD77-hand-held-DUAL-BAND-DMR-radio/203114511822

Re: On "Profiteering" and Free Software

If what it sells is firmware, it is violating the GPL. If what it sells is the work of installing the firmware on the device, I consider it legal. Now, I should explain correctly what you are doing. I have installed, for free, the firmware on many devices, and I consider that I do not have to charge...

Re: Sensibilite ananlogique

Ok
Now we have been in confinement for a few days and I have not been able to see the operation of the latest firmware versions while driving.

If there is no news, next week we will move again and I will be able to listen to the usual repeaters and check if the squelch has improved.

Thanks Roger!

Re: Sensibilite ananlogique

Hello, through my hands have passed about 20 radioditty GD77 from many colleagues who have wanted this radio with OpenGD77 firmware. I don’t have sophisticated gadgets. A Chinese RF generator, and checking the usual signal of the FM repeaters in the area. Whenever I change the firmware to a radio I ...
