So I pulled the pin and ordered a DM-1701B from China, which firmware file would be the one to use for that unit, OpenDM1701 or OpenRT84, I can see that the DM-1701B is referred to as “aka Retevis RT-84” in another thread..

These are available to buy singly from another Chinese website for about $AUD100 delivered including GST, are they that much better than the DM-1701?

I’m looking to get one of these as my first foray into DMR, is this codeplug for the radio with the stock firmware, or does it need OpenGD77 installed first?
