Eureka! That was it. I was in the wrong section.
Default value is 100. When i changed it 50 it changed the radio to 500mW.
I learned something new today!
Many thanks Daniel!

Re: Setting DM1801 TX Power in Hotspot Mode
I enabled the logging from pi-star and noticed the power value set in MMDVMHost is actually in watts and not a percentage. Power=1 is 1Watt, Power=15 is 15 Watts. Anything under 1 is 0 Watts. Re: Setting DM1801 TX Power in Hotspot Mode
I'm familiar with digital mode and trying to measure power.
Just for a sanity check I'm going to switch the radio to FM mode and see what my watt meter shows.
By chance is there a way to turn off the backlight in Hotspot mode?

Re: Setting DM1801 TX Power in Hotspot Mode
In my case the default in pi-star is 1 which would be ignored by the DM1801 Hotspot since it apparently ignores anything below 10 as we've learned. Any value I put in doesn't change the value displayed on the radio. It appears there is a bit of a disconnect between pi-star and Hotspot mode. I manual...

Re: Setting DM1801 TX Power in Hotspot Mode
So the value is percentage. If I set a value of say 15 in pi-star that results in 1.25. Which is also a percentage?

Re: Setting DM1801 TX Power in Hotspot Mode
I wasn't measuring the power. Just hoping the power level displayed by the radio is at least in the ballpark.

Re: Setting DM1801 TX Power in Hotspot Mode
Ah ha! So I'm *not* crazy!
The current default is power=1 in pi-star so that should have set it to 50mW.
No worries though. Not what I'd call a big deal. Easily remedied.

Re: Setting DM1801 TX Power in Hotspot Mode
Well, I got it. I need to set the power *before* going into hotspot mode. The OpenDM1801 docs are is a little hazy on that and I interpreted it as the pi-star would set the power. Looks like I'm good to go.Running at 50mW. Sorry about the username foul up. I usually use my call. Missed that one too ...

Re: Setting DM1801 TX Power in Hotspot Mode
Good evening Roger!
Well the default value in the pi-star is Power=1 and I've tried .5, 50 ,50% etc..
As for the radio. The menu isn't available in hotspot mode but I have a feeling I should have set the power *before* putting it into Hotspot mode.
