OpenGD77

I am not looking to use the gd77 as a hotspot. All I want to do is get on the air with the opengd77 and my jumbospot. Using the gd77 as a hotspot may or may not be fooled with a bit later.

When I'm in FM mode with screen showing Ra and Ta, plus their frequencies and I hit either left or right arrow keys, the bottom half of the screen goes black. To get it back I have to push the up arrow key. The word "squelch" appears above the black bottom half of the screen. BY THE WAY....THIS IS F...

I used the new dropdown setting for gd77 modem type

After changing the modem type to opengd77 in pi-star, the jumbo's screen kept reading the familiar "close" which I let it do for ten minutes. Giving up, I pulled the power, then powered back up. The lights inside the jumbospot lite up, but the screen is black and stays black forever. BRICK BRICK BRICK

a bit confused. i live in a rural area so I am only able to use a dmr radio with a hotspot. does the latest firmware allow me to purchase a raspberry pi and NOT a mmvdn hi hat to use the gd77 through its own hihat with pi-star? Thanks.
