Re: About UV380 replacement flash memory
Picture Hi! I think these pads aren't prepared for the second Flash chip... The big tinned part not covered with the silkscreen seems to be there for soldering a chip with a metallic bottom for a good cooling... And flash chips don't need it and generally they don't have metallic bottoms :-). 73, O...

Re: Quansheng UV-K5 w/ an active development scene
Hi! I would like to ask the users of this radio: Is there a firmware which is capable of FM TX/RX on the "4M" (73-84MHz) band ? In my country (Czech Republic) this band is used commercially but there are some "shared channels", which don't need any licensing or registering to use them. Similar chann...

Re: Radioddity GD77 jumping to TG1
Hi! Version 4.3.9 ? It looks that you are talking about the official firmware, right ? This site is dedicated to the OpenGD77 alternative firmware, which uses different release naming. Because it's a totally different firmware written from scratch (excluding AMBE codec implementation borrowed from t...

Re: UV-380 corrupted
Hi! I believe that it's not a codeplug corruption. Ir really looks like a HW problem - incorrect loading of the coefficients to the synthesizer chip, so it isn't locking for lower fequencies. It reacts to the frequency changes, but only marginally, and fully starts tracking the frequency only above ...

Re: Spontaneous Transmissions - MD-9600
AFIK 4000 is the network disconnect TG, and some networks send this automatically after a specific time Is your radio set to TG 4000 Did you actually see the radio transmit for 10 seconds each time? Hi! I think that the long RF transmissions (8 - 10 seconds) are regular transmissions done by the us...

Re: gd77+baofeng 1801 - faster scan than other stations
Hello, i have said many times, that opengd77 team has all my respect to this masterpiece FW and my post was not pointed to them, but to all opengd77 community. What I'm worried about is, that we all waste time answering basic questions like you've mentioned (how to install, when will be portet to s...

Re: GD-77 Keyboard sound
following as iv been intrested in that to no kepad sounds but keep roger beep ect for dmr so ik when someone has stopped tx or is keying up It's not practical to have this level of configurability, because for every option the firmware needs to store the language translation for all built in langua...

Re: Digital simplex and private calls.
No. There you can't prevent the other radios running the OpenGD77 firmware receiving your private calls.Or for that matter any other radios running other firmware set to promiscuous mode. Just use 2 or more channels We will also never be able to support encryption, as its illegal for the developers...

Re: Analog roundtrip through codec?
Your understanding of codecs is correct for basic codecs like WAV and MP3, but voice codecs behave a bit differently in order to achieve their extremely low bandwidth. Instead of encoding all sounds, they're designed to encode speech sounds specifically. A lot of background noises can't be encoded,...
