Argh, you are obviously absolutely correct. I read the press the green button to confirm the changes and clearly should have read the next line in the manual as well.

Running this beta firmware I think I've encountered a minor bug. Used the VFO --> New Channel function. New channel appears in the "All Channels" zone.
