Re: GD-77 sensitivity on VHF, how can I calibrate the radio ?
From memory, the performance of the GD77 is pretty reasonable on both bands and compares well against other radios. Certainly not 10dB down on VHF as you are suggesting. It is a while since I tested my GD77 so I have just repeated the test on my Marconi 2955. The performance is identical on VHF and ...

Re: Colorized OpenMDUV380
You will not see a com port until you have loaded the new firmware into the radio.
The original factory firmware and the bootstrap loader do not enumerate as com ports.

Re: OpenGD77 compatible with FW D026.057?
As far as we know we have firmware versions for all revisions of the MD9600. Of course TYT could change the design again at any time so we can never be certain.(They have done that about 5 times already).

Re: Digital simplex and private calls.
I agree that the current handling of private calls is not ideal. We will look into this and see if it can be improved.

Re: Maximum Power on TYT-MD-9600
It's probably not your meter. The published output power of the radio is very optimistic and only some radios manage to achieve this. In practice 30W on UHF and 40W on VHF is fairly normal. This is down to the hardware design and is nothing to do with the firmware. The maximum output power is also v...

Re: Display options Brightness and Min bright
Have you tried the MD9600 V1 firmware? If your radio is a very early model it may need to use this. (All early radios had V2.1 marked on the PCB so that is no clue). The V1 version was created to fix a problem with dimming on the very early radios. The only change is the method of dimming. Everythin...

Re: Which is better for OpenGD77 GD-77 or RT84?
The program memory of the MK22 processor in the GD77 and similar radios is very close to being full. So the potential for further enhancements is very limited. The STM32 processor based radios like the MDUV380 and RT84 still have some spare capacity available.

Re: TYT MD-UV380 / RT-3S Installation information
Just to confirm. The latest firmware is still working correctly on my MDUV390.
One thing that an cause the symptoms you describe is if you forget to select MDUV380 as the radio type before downloading the firmware. If it is inadvertantly left set to MD9600 it will appear to load but will not work.

Re: No modulation
It is very unlikely that the calibration data is to blame.
Much more likely that you have a faulty microphone capsule.

Re: GD-77 Firmware V6.0.1 [Commercial Part90 Version] GD-77 Firmware V4.3.9 [Ham Version]
The firmware loader will only work with the originally specified donor firmware V4.3.6
This is because the loader needs to extract the DMR Codec from the donor file. Other versions may not be in the same location.
