I think it's the hardware. The radio is brand new!
At -15db it gets a little better, but doesn't eliminate the problem.

On the GD77, there is almost no background noise on PTT without modulation.
On the Retevis RT3s, it sounds like wind noise.

compared to the GD77, the RT3s makes significantly more background noise with PTT without modulation!
Can anyone confirm that?

Look for the Retevis RT-90. That is the same radio and is still available. Retevis.eu claims it has them in stock. I've got one more question: - Is it possible to start the scanner ON THE DEVICE with a long press (arrow down or up)? I use a stand microphone!
