MD-9600 and bug in GPS location copy ?

HI! I noticed that once I have a GPS lock on my MD9600 the GPS coordinates copied from the GPS screen to the location screen in the "radio info" have a 2 decimal shift error as follows: 39.7000N 104.0500W get copied as 39.0070N 104.0005W this is on nov 26 2022 firmware. Is this just a display bug is...

Re: ALPHA 2022 11 29

Did you try the button under the PTT and up/down Arrows?
(seems to work for me)

Re: ALPHA 2022 11 29

yes, I think that there was something wrong with the CPS.
After downloading firmware in the rt3s and the DM1801, it would not load anything else in the rt3s , but worked fine on the 1801.
I restarted CPS , and now it downloads kebs and codeplegs fine or the rt3s as well..
Thanks!

Re: TYT MD-9600 / Retevis RT-90 and GPS

I finally got a new IPX SMD connector, and soldered it in place. (not an easy task, but it worked on the second try). The GPS receiver works fine now. With the radio sitting on a car dash it was able to acquire a position in 5 minutes, and it maintained the lock easily while driving around. It would...

Re: TYT MD-9600 / Retevis RT-90 and GPS

I believe i figure it out. I disconnected the 2 components that go to the antenna pin from pin 14 and from pin 11 on the right of the antenna connector in the above picture. Pin 14 supplies 3.3v @20ma while pin 11 is the rf input. The circuit is supposed to supply 3.3v to the antenna , so I still be...

Re: TYT MD-9600 / Retevis RT-90 and GPS

Roger, I took a closer look at the terrible GPS antenna in the MD9600, and I think that there is a hardware error on the PCB. Here is the pinout of the H210: h210-_pinout.jpg While the "RF in" pin 11 is connected to the antenna, the "VCC_RF" pin 14 is connected to ground. This results in the antenna...

ok, for what its worth here are the measurements for my RT3s , and my DM1801: RT3S: VHF 146.000Mhz , TX 6.33W rx sq open 0.2 uV ( -121dbm) loss of signal 0.134 uV (- 124.5bdm) UHF446.000Mhz, TX 5.3W rx sq open 0.25 uV ( -119dbm) loss of signal 0.23uV ( -119.8 dbm) DM-1801 VHF 146.000Mhz , TX 5.3W rx...

Re: gd-77 HT vs md-uv380 performance

Personally, I think that the UV380/RT3S is superior to the DM1801. I have both , and both the TX audio, and RX audio are much more clear and have a better audio dynamic range in the RT3S. This is comparable to the Unihertz Atom XL which also being a cell phone, has very good hardware. Also I think t...
