The firmware only supports black and white images.
Although the screen on the MDUV380 is a colour screen most of the code was written for radios with black and white screens. Adding general support for colour needs a lot of re-writing and increases the memory usage.

Re: Very Impressed, and one question
Hello and welcome.
No, there is no way to lock the radio while it is scanning. I don't think anyone has ever asked for that before.
It may not be possible to add this , scanning already uses a lot of different key combinations and there may not be anything suitable left.

Re: TYT MD-2017 Teardown
The AT1846S does have an alternate I2C address. It is set by pin 8 SEN. Looking at the picture one chip has this pulled high and one low, so they appear to be using I2C. The two address seem to be 0x2E and 0x71. Also looking at the picture the right hand chip has no connection to the RF out pin 18. ...

Re: TYT MD-2017 Teardown
That's interesting, dual 1846S chips is something we have not seen before. Presumably one for UHF and one for VHF. The MD2017 was one of the first dual band DMR radios so possibly they simply took two single band RF designs and put them on one PCB. There is only one HRC6000 though so it can't be tru...

Re: Time,Date and Location Settings
Data is entered using the A/B button on the microphone or the ENT button on the radio.

Re: Stick to one DMR TG
This is a network/hotspot configuration issue and not really anything to do with the radio. Your hotspot can only transmit one talkgroup at a time. (or two if it is a duplex hotspot). If you have several static talkgroups set up then these all have equal priorities and will be used on a 'first come ...

Re: DTMF dial Tx CTCSS problem
Just to conclude this thread. After some experimenting, with G7JIQs help, we have found the cause of the problem. It appears that the HRC6000 DMR chip was shifting the transmit frequency by + 10 KHz in between each digit. However this only happened if the Reference oscillator frequency correction in...

Re: MD9600 regression to stock firmware clarification
I think that was just added as a safety net in case anything happened accidentally to the calibration data. In practice we don't deliberately change it. Even when we release the new calibration menu we will be working on a copy of the data and not the original factory version.
