Re: Update 29th Jan
I loaded the Jan 29 Update into both of my radios this morning and both radios have been doing a mix of DMR and FM scanning without any apparent issues. While DMR scanning the TG and call signs have displayed promptly when the scan stops on activity. Looks like things are working very well with this...

Re: Experimental Contacts cache system
Running the opengd77_202001281728.sgl version on both radios and it's working great. As others have mentioned, the slowly flashing FM/DMR indicator while scanning is a very nice enhancement. Great work!

Re: Experimental Contacts cache system
Roger, I loaded the experimental contacts cache firmware to my 2018 GD77 and it has been happily scanning local DMR repeaters for an hour without any major incidents. I did notice an anomaly where a station calling on North America initially popped up as a Private Call on my screen. The next time he...

Re: Install Problems
Make sure the tips of the prongs on the Radioddity cable are not loose. When that happens, the cable can be very difficult to insert. I had a Radioddity cable fail when one of the tips broke off inside the radio. I had to take the radio apart to fish out the loose tip and had to order a new cable. B...
Re: Antenna
I did what Ken did for both of my GD77 radios and bought Nagoya NA-701 antennas to replace the stock antennas. I would agree with his assessment that the TX/RX performance is not much different from the stock antennas, however, I was mainly interested in them because they are way more flexible than ...

Re: Experimental changes to code optimisation
I loaded the Jan 18 firmware [0d961d6] into both radios this morning and have been running them for about 3 hours with a mix of scanning of both analog and DMR repeaters and this version has behaved fine. Good reports from other stations when I have transmitted and I have not heard a single dropout ...

W1AEX - DMR + ANALOG + PUB SVC Connecticut USA
The codeplug is ready-to-go for Connecticut, just install your own DMR-ID (General Setting) and Talker Alias information (Boot Item) and load it up. It contains Brandmeister, ARES, and DMARC repeaters from around the state. The following zones are installed: PUB-SVC (police, fire, ems) FRS MARINE BA...

Re: Update 16th Jan
I loaded the firmware into both of my GD77s and they are working fine, however, one of them no longer does the boot CW at startup, the same as Thierry reported. As others indicated, increasing the BEEP level from my usual -18dB to +3dB restores it. Not a big deal but just reporting that I am seeing ...

Re: Reset while scanning zone containing multiple TS1 and TS2 channels
Roger,
With the old zone configuration which was thrashing the timeslots, I always saw the LED on top light up when it crashed, so I believe it was stopping for activity when the reset occurred.
