New member, new to DMR and 1701

Greetings All,

I am Mark from Portland, Oregon. I got into ham radio back in March and picked right up on the analog stuff but I am struggling with DMR. I bought a pair of 1701's after learning that with OpenGD77 you can run one as a hotspot. I downloaded the codeplug that VO1KJM posted on 3/20 to both radios. I set them both to the DMR simplex channel and am attempting to call Parrott 9990. I am using BlueDV for windows and it connects via usb to the hotspot , it appears to receive the signal through the hotspot but I do not get any return. What am I doing wrong?

I would be happy to send my codeplug, screenshots etc. I know once I get things connected I will be able to go from there but this is very frustrating.
