I live in rural Colorado, near Durango. There aren't a lot of repeaters in my area. The only digital repeater I know of is a DMR repeater operated by Rocky Mountain Ham.
I got Opengd77 installed on my RT3S and loaded a code plug that I got from here: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=1495&p=15637&hilit=Rmham#p15637
I can't get the radio to pick up the traffic from my local DMR repeater (RMHAM Durango, Missionary Ridge). When pressing the monitor button it kicks over to analog after 2 seconds and I can hear the digital signal. Very occasionally it will make a brief noise a bit like squelch tail. I have tried making a new code plug from scratch and it does the same thing.
I think I have all the filters turned off (promiscuous mode).
What could be wrong?
My guesses are 1) I have an error in my code plug or settings 2) the repeater is using a different digital mode (how can I tell?).

Try going a colour code scan
Re: Trying out DMR on a RT3S
I got it to work. I think there is some interference inside my house. I went outside and it seems to work now.
It's weird because the signal is pretty strong inside, but my radio won't accept DMR.
