Hello from the UK

Post by G1EKW » Sat Mar 27, 2021 8:25 pm

Hi all, the name's Julian, location Bedford, UK (IO92sd).

I bought a GD-77 as soon as they became available here. I have no DMR repeaters nearby but if I plug it into the rooftop 70cm antenna I can easily reach the nearest one (roughly 30 miles/50km ish). But I got bored with having to do that, so I now have an MDVMM-based hotspot.

Using the stock GD-77 firmware, having to program every TG as a separate channel is a real pain, so I started looking for an alternative and... well... here I am!

Hi Julian

Your existing codeplug will work, but with the OpenGD77 firmware you can cleanup your codeplug and remove the duplicate channels.

See the CPS section in the User Guide
