Carl, VK1KCM here. Ham for 40 years, interested in mainly digital and computer assisted modes.
I looked at OpenGD77 a few times, but was put off by being thrown straight into a bulletin board. It took a local friend to convince me to look harder, and check out a few videos on Youtube.
Initial impressions are positive however. Obviously there's a learning curve, but the functionality is impressive and the install was pretty easy. I do like the TG lists concept in the codeplug rather than hardcoding each frequency into a separate channel. Always thought that's how it should be done.
