I am waiting on my TYT Md-390uvplus, 5w model. I need info for initial set up and advancing to Open GD77 firmware for this radio.. I am really very new to DMR, but want to learn the M17 protocol. Where do I begin?

I think you’re in a big mixups. I don’t think OpenGD77 has anything to do with M17.

I think you confused OpenGD77 with OpenRTX. Only the latter provides M17 support. Google the project's name and you'll find plenty of info.
