[User missunderstanding] Quickkeys don’t work

When using firmware version from October 16 I had the following quickkeys: 1 = scan, 2 = battery status, 3 = last heard.

With version from November 1st it should be possible to define own quickkeys. Unfortunately quickkeys don’t work at all with both my GD77 radios, even not with the newest firmware of November 3rd. It looks like I am doing something wrong, but I follow the description in the release notes.

What can that be? Maybe one of my settings that don’t allow me to define quickkeys?

Strange

Please describe precisely how you assign a quick key and also what audio feedback you hear from the radio

e.g.

To set the quick key to the battery

GREEN
DOWN
DOWN
SK2 + 1 (Radio respond with ACK beep , ascending 3 ascending tones)
RED

To run

Press

SK2 + 1

Ah.

Are you using a GD-77 or another radio.

Hi.

In relation to Quickkeys:

My GD77, for example:

SK2 + 1 --> Battery,
SK2 + 2 --> Last heard

If I press a quickkey (SK2 + 1) and then the other quickkey (SK2 + 2), without previously exiting the first option, then:

SK2 + 1 --> Battery,
SK2 + 2 --> Battery

Thx

Hi,

The QuickKeys are just active in Channel and VFO screens.

Cheers.

I am very sorry ... reading is one thing, understanding the other ... I pressed the number buttons too long for saving. So the only thing I always did was deleting or resetting the quickkeys. Thank you all for your help and sorry for my silliness.

I appreciate OpenGD77 very much, it makes from my GD77 a real amateur radio! Great work! Excellent!

Hi,

What I mean is that after pressing two quickkeys in a row, both are associated with the same menu option.

Thx

Ah. But it's normal, as in fact you're assigning the current screen (battery) to the '2' also.

Maybe we can forbid to assign a shortkey if the slot is already assigned, making mandatory to clear it first.

Cheers.

Thanks Daniel

Preventing overwriting would be a good idea, as it tells the operator they are doing something wrong.

Also different beeps to indicate assignment and clearing of assignment would also help, whereas currently the beep when the key is cleared is the same as when its assigned
