OpenGD77_201912111620_VHF_Calibration.sgl works - the repeater connect immediately.

Many Thanks to Roger, Colin and Riku :)

Ok

Thanks for testing.

I will include the fix in the next formal release

We will also be making some more changes which may improve things even more by doing linear interpolation between the adjacent calibration points, and also fixing some other problems if the tx and Rx freqs are not in the same calibration band, but I will make a separate test release for those changes

after testing this abit more, mainly receive side, the master branch is way better on receiving.
this test version on RX does alot interruption on signal, as i do have 2x gd77 i compared them other has master version, other has this vhf test version.

but i think you might know already this, as you used old code?

What are your Tx and Rx frequencies

Ah OK.

Its interesting that the Rx performance is now worse.

That implies that some settings related to Rx are now incorrect, even though this fixes the bug on Tx.

I can't detect any reduction in receive performance here. Either on UHF or VHF.

I have checked the code changes and I can't see any obvious errors.
The only thing that is frequency sensitive and thus would have changed for receive is the squelch thresholds. However squelch is not used for DMR so that shouldn't make any difference.

Tried DMR simplex on VHF and signal is solid with no dropouts on two different radios.

Riku, have you tried swapping the firmware between your two radios to confirm it is really the firmware and not a hardware difference?

Colin.

nope, but i need more time to test it does occasion drop out, going to try different things. i need to see logfiles from mmdvmhost same time to be sure the person itself is not breaking up etc

i put latest firmware(self compiled today) on both radios now and it is totally random the breaking ups.
here is a video where is 2x GD77 and one MD2017 for compare, MD2017 has no break ups.

i did tried older firmware, was same thing. so this might not releated to this thread about vhf. need try out on UHF with other hotspot
Look the video, when green light shut off then the breaking is happening, it happen ALOT.

EDIT: i did tried on UHF, same thing. breaking up randomly.

Both GD77s appear to be occasionally loosing sync with the signal. There could be many reasons for that, including the hotspot calibration. Can you try talking directly from one radio to the other. Do the dropouts still occur when you are not using the hotspot and just listening to the other radio (GD77 or MD2017)?
