No, no, this issue is old and I don't use hotspot.
With OpenGD77, I have never been able to wake this repeater if its not transmitting (other slot)
This only happens to me with this repeater: ED7ZAL (UHF, Hardware MMDVM (Repeater). Firmware 20170501)).

ThxI tried to change the calibration:
Reference oscillator tuning uhf (original) 998--->995, 990, 985, 1005 but unsuccessfully.
I can't connect with this dmr repeaters, ED7ZAL (UHF, Hardware MMDVM (Repeater). Firmware 20170501)
* with official firmware, no problem.
* When one slot is busy, I connect fine for the other slot
* a colleague has 5 different dmr walkie and connects fine with this repeater
* with other repeaters, simplex or by hotspot, I have no problem
