Post by robocop46 » Sat Nov 23, 2019 12:20 pm

Hello everyone,
since I installed the version of firware OpenGd Tier 2 Alpha I have reception problems, there is micro cut in qso, with the old version Opengd77 it did not do it. Is there a setting to make?
Thank you

I think this may be a calibration problem

Try disabling the calibration in the options screen.

The new version needs the radio to have accurate calibration because it will be able to scan both TS1 and TS2 at the same time, but it seems some radios have problems because the calibration is inaccurate

I also suffer from this bug with all the Tier II firmware I've tried and makes me go back to the Tier I firmware. I'll post my calibration screens for reference.

Yes. The calibration looks OK.

Unfortunately at the moment I don't know what causes this on a few radio

I was wondering if you are getting this while using a hotspot and if so which Hotspot. I have a work around if it is a open spot

Yes, using it with my DVMega Pi 3B hotspot primarily with the EA7KDO Nextion screen layout. I'll try it later with my other hotspots and add an edit for fun. Out of curiosity, what is the work around for the Open Spot?

I changed the modem protocol from 4fsk raised cosine to just 4fsk. Do not know how to do this on other systems like my mmdvm based hotspots. Then i slightly upped the inner deviation to 655 from 648. Both my. gd77s no longer have the problem. It’s definitely a work around till a solution is found

Someone else emailed me the same solution, but I thought they had an openspot.
Is that the same thing as a DVMega ?

I only have MMDVM hotspots. I'll ask around locally and see if I can borrow an DVMega

I just experienced this issue in a QSO with VK7ZCR on 977. I'm using an MMDVM hat (duplex board from DF2ET, DB9MAT) on an rpi 3B+, pi-star 4.1.0 RC6. Changing to VFO and back to memory during reception cleared it up.
