Re: Occasional transmission on the wrong TimeSlot
Can anyone who is experiencing the Tx on the wrong TimeSlot, please try this update with changes from Colin G4EML

Re: Occasional transmission on the wrong TimeSlot
ok Roger, i will try this version.
I let you know.

Now I will try Roger, Thanks
Re: Occasional transmission on the wrong TimeSlot
The tests are in progress,
Today me and Samuele IZ4RCU, we did qso on the usual repeater (IR6UDA) making sure that the signal conditions were the worst. So, rubber antenna, power at the limit of transit and transmission while walking.
Sometimes we were at the limit on the repeater with signal that reached even -125db with repeated hooks and unhooks but the 2 radio's never went to transmit on the wrong timeslot.
The test was done for about 20 minutes with short passages.
Tomorrow we will do other tests in the same conditions but in /mobile.
We'll see what happens..
we will keep you updated
Re: Occasional transmission on the wrong TimeSlot
Ok.
It would be interesting to repeat the same tests with the official firmware.
I wonder if it ever transmits on the wrong Timeslot.
FYI. It is very unlikely to change TS during the Tx. The problem actually occurs during Rx, that the TS is not identified correctly, and hence when the PTT is pressed, the radio transmits on the wrong TS.
So transmitting many short overs, e.g 10 or 15 seconds would be the optimum test

Thanks for the help!
I jus did it: With the official firmware at the moment I have not been able to replicate the problem, though I fear that it may only be luck.

Re: Occasional transmission on the wrong TimeSlot
Ok.
I think we will need to change the synchronisation parameters

Re: Occasional transmission on the wrong TimeSlot
Hi all,
Today, me and Samuele, we did other tests on mobile. 20 minutes of qso this morning, on the move, and 20 minutes this afternoon always on the usual repeater (IR6UDA) with rubber antenna inside the car. we have never encountered the problem. the only thing we have noticed is that occasionally, the radio receives the QSOs coming from the other timeslot, for a second then disappear. This happens especially during the change of channel, if someone is talking on the other timeslot the radio receives it for a second then disappears. Obviously the timeslot filter is active. The tests will continue in the coming days. firmware version e6d99b2
OpenGD77_202001061720_g4eml_timeslot_changes.sgl installed on both radios.

Re: Occasional transmission on the wrong TimeSlot
Thanks for the reports. I think this may be a good as we can get it at the moment.
Receiving the other timeslot for a short time is possibly a side effect of the improved timeslot detection we are now using. It now spends more time checking the received timeslot signal is valid. This may make it a little slower to lock onto the correct timeslot but it should also mean that it detects the timeslot more reliably. As you say this will normally only happen on first receiving the signal such as when you change channel. There is a 50/50 chance of being on the wrong timeslot initially. It may be possible to mute the receiver during this time but that may then give the impression of being slow to receive.

Re: Occasional transmission on the wrong TimeSlot
Hi all OM,
Even today we did qso for about an hour between this morning and this afternoon in poor signal conditions. No timeslot exchange issues detected...
In my opinion, It would seem that the e6d99b2 "OpenGD77_202001061720_g4eml_timeslot_changes.sgl" version has solved the problem of occasional transmission on the wrong timeslot.
