Post by VK3KYY » Sun Apr 09, 2023 1:39 am

Thanks to Colin G4EML the CPS now has his fantasic CSV Export / Import system

See

https://opengd77.com/downloads/CPS/Latest

The CSV functionality is integated into the file menu

Note.

Export is comma separated
One fields are prefixed with a tab character to stop Microsoft Excel converting them into numbers.

Looks like the delimiter is semicolon ( ; ) , not comma ( , ) which is even better as excel has problems when decimal sign is comma
according to locale settings.

It tries to identify and use the correct delimiter and decimal separator for your locale. This should work most of the time but there will probably be some cases that don't work correctly. This is one of the common problems with a simple format like CSV.

Please also note that the CSV columns have changed slightly from my previous OpenGD77-CSV stand-alone utility. The previous version has been withdrawn and should no longer be used.

Hello, no it is indeed a comma. That must be why my array isn't arranged correctly.

G4EML informed earlier in the thread that the choice of delimiter is locale (region) dependent , I see that I have different output on
two of my computers where I have different settings for decimal symbol.

Since I have never used G4MEL CVS import / export tools, is there a link or write up on how to use them.

Also where / how do access them in the CPS ?

Thank you all that work on this firmware / software, it is great stuff !!!

@AA3RP

Hi Robert.
www.gb3gf.co.uk/downloads.html is the path for the CSV utility from Colin G4EML.
The download link is http://www.gb3gf.co.uk/Files/OpenGD77-CSV.zip but sadly it does not work anymore, it says:
The requested URL was not found on this server.
Among other things, the zipped archive contains an .pdf document with instructions, however in my opinion everything is rather intuitive, but this is my personal opinion.
In order to access the new CSV import / export utility on CPS's menu it is need to put the mouse pointer over the File item and then on the CSV one (please, take a look at the attached image):
