Trojan issue

Post by K8BBL » Sat Jan 15, 2022 8:22 pm

Under the FAQ section above there is a post from July 2021 from F1RMB titled "[HOWTO] Flash the OpenGD77 firmware (new procedure)" that gives a link to the latest CPS. I have tried multiple times to download this file (it's the 9/14/21 version) and Norton will not allow it. The Norton software keeps identifying a trojan in the download (Trojan.Gen.9) and deletes the file. Has anyone else had this issue?

The solution consists of two steps:
1. Uninstall Norton AV
2. Install latest CPS

Normally antivirus programs have a way to override the default operation

We have been plagued by false positive antivirus reports for a long time. This is because antivirus programs, prefer to say all exe's are a virus, unless they are from a trusted source e.g. from microsoft.

BTW

What is your callsign

Users can't change their own usernames, so I've changed it as admin
