CPS and Windows XP

Post by W7ML » Sun Jan 16, 2022 12:44 am

I am new here with my RD-5R.

I run Windows XP in Parallels on my Mac mini very successfully so far with every CPS I have used to date.

I have Windows 10 installed but never updated it or really use it.

Will all of the software aspects of this project run in XP?

Thanks!

I don't think it still works on XP, because microsoft does not provide support for the DotNet 4.8 framework on XP

Windows 7 and above works

On Windows 11 the CPS does work, but the driver won't load because MS don't allow non commercial drivers on W11. So you have to manually select the generic COM port which Windows 11 generates for the radio :-(

BTW.

I changed your login to your callsign, because this is site policy

You changed my screen name and now I cannot do anything except REPLY because it wants me to accept cookies... again and I don't remember where that way the first time I accepted them.

Is my stock Windows 10 good enough, or do I need to upgrade it? It is not activated, since I never use it.

Thank you!
Does this change my screen name for any other forums on phpBB, if any?

No.

Just this forum.

The phpBB logo is just the default which somes with the generic display theme. I should really replace it with a transparent image, to save confusion

Its a standard PHPBB forum installation, so if it does not work on a specific device its outside of my control
