Same problem here. I am using Baofeng DM-1801 with Beta 2022 11 29 and CPS R2023.01.24.01. THE CPS finds the radio when I update the firmware, but does not find it when writing the codeplug. He asks COM Port and can't proceed. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Explain in detail what you are doing

E.g

Turn on radio
Radio shows vfo screen
Connect cable to radio
Connect cable to PC

Open windows device manager

Observe names of common devices

See opengd77 com port

Or observe unknown com device in device manager

I saw the same message a couple of times, checking device manager/ports i could see the GD77 cps had given itself a port already in use.
I just went into Advanced, changed the port number to one not already allocated & voila...the com port error vanished

Thanks for sharing

BTW. The CPS does not allocate the port number, Windows does this when a device is connected.

The CPS finds the COM port, based on its name.

No worries
Thanks for clarifying there too, although hard to believe such a fine OS could possibly be to blame.... ;)
