GD-77 programming with Windows 11
GD-77 programming with Windows 11
I need help please. I can NOT read/write my GD-77 using windows 11. Apparently Windows 11 no longer supports the programming cable that came with the radio. I've tried everything I can find on the internet but have not found a working solution. Does anyone know of a solution or a "workaround" for this problem? Your help greatly appreciated. Looked up a replacement cable on Radioddity website but the cable is "Discontinued".

Re: GD-77 programming with Windows 11
Are you using the OpenGD77 firmware or the manufacturers firmware? The USB drivers are different and so will be the answers.
The cable is just that, a cable, there is no electronics in it, so there is no way a different cable would make any difference. (assuming it is not physically damaged).
I don't have a windows 11 PC, maybe someone else can comment if they have it working.

Hi, the actual drivers are not suported under windows 11. There is no version for the moment. I had the same problem and the own way I had is a virtual machin with windows 10. Paralels or vmware may be an alternative. 73's from Victor - CT1AFS

Opengd77 works fine with Windows 11
I don't know whether the official firmware loader or CPS works with W11

Re: GD-77 programming with Windows 11
Who knows? Perhaps the problem may be some thing like that. My Windows 11 is the portuguese version. Some times it hapens and this is not the first time that things don't work so fine like that under diferent languages. It's a very known problem. In my case, under W10, the comunication has no problem. But, as W11 is stil very recent, thos cases may ocour. Perhaps think a litle beet more before install W11. Regards. Victor - CT1AFS.

I am using opengd77 firmware. Opengd77 cps (latest version) runs fine but I can't read or write the radio. I select the correct com port but it fails to connect. Thank you for your's (and everybody's) replies. I'll keep plugging away at it.G4EML wrote: ↑Fri Oct 28, 2022 7:45 pmAre you using the OpenGD77 firmware or the manufacturers firmware?
